Kodaiana Distant, 1916 is currently considered as a valid taxon of genus rank in the family Issidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This genus was first described by Distant W. L. in 1916 in the following paper: The fauna of British India, including Ceylon and Burma. Rhynchota. Homoptera: Appendix..VI: 1-248.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Issidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Hemisphaeriinae Melichar, 1906, . Hemisphaeriinae incertae sedis .

Kodaiana is monospecific. The type species of the genus is Kodaiana campbelli Distant, 1916.

Kodaiana is an extant taxon.
