1. Oliarus bingervillei Synave, 1968 taxonomy
Oliarus bingervillei Synave, 1968 is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Synave H. in 1968 in the following paper: Contributions à la connaisance de la faune entomologique de la Cote d'Ivoire (J. Decelle, 1961-1964). XXIX: Homoptera Cercopoidea et Fulgoroidea. Annales du Musée du Congo Belge (Sciences Zoologique). (Ser. 8), 165: 441-446.
It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Pentastirini Emeljanov, 1971, subtribe Pentastirina Emeljanov, 1971, genus Oliarus Stål, 1862.
Oliarus bingervillei is an extant taxon.

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Oliarus bingervillei Synave, 1968 are known from the Afrotropical biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the African and Guineo-Congolian zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013).
