Laccocera vanduzeei Penner, 1945 is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Delphacidae Leach, 1815 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Penner L. R. in 1945 in the following paper: The genus Laccocera Van Duzee (Homoptera: Delphacidae). Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society, 18: 30-47.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Delphacidae Leach, 1815, subfamily Delphacinae Leach, 1815, tribe Delphacini Leach, 1815, genus Laccocera Van Duzee, 1897.

Laccocera vanduzeei is an extant taxon.

2. Laccocera vanduzeei Penner, 1945 geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Laccocera vanduzeei Penner, 1945 are known from the Nearctic biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the North American zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013).
