It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Achilidae Stål, 1866, subfamily Achilinae Stål, 1866, tribe Achilini Stål, 1866, subtribe Cixidiina Emeljanov, 1992, genus Cixidia Fieber, 1866, subgenus Cixidia (Epiptera) Metcalf, 1922.
