Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus is an extant taxon.

2. Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 are known from the Palaearctic biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Eurasian and Saharo-Arabian zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects; they mainly feed on host plants belonging to the following orders: Fagales (Betulaceae, Fagaceae) and Pinales (Pinaceae).
Figure 3a depicts the orders of plants on which Cixius (Paracixius) distinguendus Kirschbaum, 1868 feeds, and figure 3b the percentage they represent in the diet for the entire species. Figures 4a and 4b do the same more precisely for the family level of these plants.
