1. Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) taxonomy

Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Delphacidae Leach, 1815 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Osborn H. in 1926 in the following paper: Faunistic and ecologic notes on Cuban Homoptera. Annals of the Entomological Society of America. Columbus, Ohio, 19: 335-366.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Delphacidae Leach, 1815, subfamily Delphacinae Leach, 1815, tribe Delphacini Leach, 1815, genus Phrictopyga Caldwell, 1951.

Liburnia parvula is an extant taxon.

2. Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) are known from the biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Liburnia parvula (Osborn, 1926) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
