1. Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) taxonomy
Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Flatidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Walker F. in 1851 in the following paper: List of the specimens of Homopterous insects in the collection of the British Museum.2: 261-636.
It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Flatidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Flatinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Selizini Distant, 1906, genus Armorseliza Ai, Yang & Zhang, 2019, and it represents the type species for its genus.
Armorseliza lignaria is an extant taxon.
2. Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) geographical distribution and bioregions
According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) are known from the Oriental and Palaearctic biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Chinese, Eurasian, Oriental and Tibetan zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.
3. Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) biological interactions
As all planthoppers, Armorseliza lignaria (Walker, 1858) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
