1. Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 taxonomy
Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Emeljanov A. F. in 2000 in the following paper: New genera of the Family Cixiidae (Homoptera, Fulgoroidea) from Australia and neighboring territories. Entomological Review, 80(3) : 251-270.
It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Gelastocephalini Emeljanov, 2000, subtribe Gelastocephalina Emeljanov, 2000, genus Ronaldia Emeljanov, 2000, and it represents the type species for its genus.
Ronaldia fennahi is an extant taxon.
2. Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 geographical distribution and bioregions
According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 are known from the Australasia biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Australian zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.
3. Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 biological interactions
As all planthoppers, Ronaldia fennahi Emeljanov, 2000 are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
