Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Delphacidae Leach, 1815 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Linnavuori R. E. in 1973 in the following paper: Hemiptera of the Sudan, with remarks on some species of the adjacent countries. 2. Homoptera Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadidae, Cercopidae, Machaerotidae, Membracidae and Fulgoroidea. (Zoological contribution from the Finnish expeditions to the Sudan No. 33). Notulae Entomologicae, 53(3) : 65-137.

It is currently classified in family Delphacidae Leach, 1815, subfamily Delphacinae Leach, 1815, tribe Delphacini Leach, 1815, genus Leptoeurysa Fennah, 1988.

Leptoeurysa imatonga is an extant taxon.

2. Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) are known from the Afrotropical biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the African zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Leptoeurysa imatonga (Linnavuori, 1973) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
