1. Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) taxonomy

Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Ricaniidae Amyot & Audinet-Serville, 1843 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Stål C. in 1863 in the following paper: Hemipterorum exoticorum generum et specierum nonnullarum novarum descriptiones. Transactions of the Entomological Society of London. (Ser. 3), 1: 571-603.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Ricaniidae Amyot & Audinet-Serville, 1843, subfamily Ricaniinae Amyot & Audinet-Serville, 1843, genus Euricania Melichar, 1898.

Euricania concinna is an extant taxon.

2. Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) are known from the Oriental biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Indo-Malayan zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Euricania concinna (Stål, 1863) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
