1. Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) taxonomy

Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Meenoplidae Fieber, 1872 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Linnavuori R. E. in 1973 in the following paper: Hemiptera of the Sudan, with remarks on some species of the adjacent countries. 2. Homoptera Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadidae, Cercopidae, Machaerotidae, Membracidae and Fulgoroidea. (Zoological contribution from the Finnish expeditions to the Sudan No. 33). Notulae Entomologicae, 53(3) : 65-137.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Meenoplidae Fieber, 1872, subfamily Meenoplinae Fieber, 1872, genus Afronisia Wilson, 1988.

Afronisia pallida is an extant taxon.

2. Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) are known from the Afrotropical biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the African and Guineo-Congolian zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Afronisia pallida (Linnavuori, 1973) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
