Holotype ♀ of Tuthillia danielburckhardti† Drohojowska, 2016 deposited in [SMNS] Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde, Stuttgart according to Drohojowska et al. (2016): 186 ; specimen no. Mx 364, deposited in the collection of the SMNS. The specimen is embedded in early Middle Miocene amber from Simojovel de Allende, Chiapas, Mexico; age 13–20 Ma (Solo´rzano Kraemer 2007). Inclusion in the small pieces of amber, partly covered with bubbles of gas, and deep straight cracks. Syninclusions: Hymenoptera: Apidae: Meliponini.
